A good lawn in Ohio is mostly a matter of mowing it right, consistently. Cool-season lawns do best kept taller, around three to four inches, and cut often enough that no more than a third of the blade comes off at once. Taller grass shades out weeds, holds moisture through July and August, and recovers faster.
Because our crew also handles trees, cleanup and turf repair, you get one point of contact for the whole property. If we notice a dead limb over the drive or a low spot holding water while we’re mowing, we’ll let you know.

Common questions
How high should my lawn be mowed?
For typical Ohio lawns of tall fescue, bluegrass and rye, around three to four inches, a little taller in midsummer heat. Scalping it short invites weeds and drought stress.
Do I have to sign up for the whole season?
Talk to us about what works for you. Most customers prefer a regular schedule, but we’ll discuss options.
Do you bag clippings?
Mulching clippings back into the lawn returns nutrients and is usually best for the grass. We can bag when there’s a reason to, like an overgrown first cut or a special event.
Can you handle my trees and lawn together?
Yes, that’s the whole idea behind Timber and Turf: one crew for the property, from the canopy down to the grass.
